11 Feb Why it Pays to Detox
January is typically the month everyone thinks about loosing weight, detoxing and generally getting their body into better shape, but for me, January was the busiest month I've had for a very long time. I struggled to find the time to do any exercise and sleep averaged 6 hours a night. Not sustainable on any level, but when you have multiple deadlines and responsibilities, sometimes you've just got to find a way to work through it.
As Billy Ocean once sang “When the going gets tough, the tough get going!”
January was filled with amazing projects and work: designing Smarta Business Builder V.2 (looking awesome I might add), a deadline for my next book, 3 Board Meetings and launching the incredible . I was simply flat out and my body was feeling it.
I had zero energy, my skin looked rubbish and I'd put on 5 lbs (yes, really I had).
It was time to get my body, mind and energy back.
You know how much I love my healthy food and green juices, but sometimes (like now) I just didn't have the time to do it all myself. What I need was a way to kick start the new me – or in my case, probably just getting the old me back!
And then I met www.plenishcleanse.com … OMG … I'm in love. Yes, seriously. The cold pressed juices are delivered to your door, removing all the hassle from juicing; particularly helpful if you have meetings and can't juice during the day. The juices come in 3 stages: Harmony, Clarity and Purity. Really, the choice boils down to how many green juices you have in your daily mix … Stage 3, Purity having the most. I opted for Stage 1, Harmony as it seemed the gentlest option (and it included the super yummy Cashew Milk).
Over the last 3 days, I've had nothing but Plenish juices, hot water and lemon and some green tea. Not once did I feel hungry, in fact, I didn't even think about food. Far more importantly, by day 3 my skin looked better and I had so much more energy. For me, that's what it was all about.
It's not a cheap option, but making cold pressed juices in not a cheap process … And yes, cold pressed juice does taste very different to the juice we make in our own centrifugal juicers. It is smoother, deeper and somehow ‘cleaner'. And totally delicious.
Now Im back to juicing once a day in my own kitchen, eating healthy and scheduling time for getting out and going for a run … I live on a beach, I have the most beautiful scenery so I can't make any excuses for not running! However, I will also be scheduling in a Plenish Cleanse every 3 months to give me a boost.
In those famous L'Oreal words … “because Im worth it!”
