Friday Favourites

For the first Friday Favourites of 2013, I thought I’d give you an eclectic mix; so here’s some cool things that I think will help you kick off 2013 as you mean to go on!

HEALTH

My lovely friend, Jason Vale’s new book The Funky Fresh Juice Book. If you haven’t juiced before, give it a try and watch your energy levels soar!

Now Jason recommends the Philips Juicer, which I have owned previously, but I recently bought the Breville juicer and actually think it is a better machine, but it’s all a personal choice,

My next recommendation isn’t for the faint hearted as it certainly isn’t cheap BUT, I had been coveting a Vitamix Blender for the last 5 years and decided to Stop Talking and Start Doing! In all seriousness, it was one of the best kitchen investments I’ve ever made, and I now use it every day for my famous Spinach and Coconut smoothies (recipe on another day!)

RESTAURANTS

On the topic of food, I thought I’d share my absolute favourite restaurant in the whole of the country … and I’m very lucky, it just happens to be on my doorstep!

Jo Jo’s never disappoints,  and it doesn’t matter who I take there, they all walk away saying the same thing, “That is the best food I’ve ever had”. And don’t just take my word for it, go and check out their famous reviews.

So if you’re planning a trip to Whitstable, make sure you book a table – PS You NEED to book!

BOOKS

For many of us, entering into a New Year reconnects us with our own spirituality; however we individually interpret that. If you are feeling like you need a bit of Zen, but with a light hearted touch, read The Dalai Lama’s Cat by David Michie. Perfect book to start the year.

And of course, how could I leave this list without reminding you all of the UK’s best selling business book – in less than 2 weeks, it will have been WHSmith’s best selling business book for a WHOLE YEAR! Yes, you know what I’m talking about … Stop Talking, Start Doing

I’m sure you’ve all got a friend, family member or work colleague who could do with a copy! 🙂
