S.H.A.A. encourages the utilization of every part of the snapalope. So study this section carefully and learn how to
fashion belts, bill holders and other accessories from the exquisite hide of these magnificent creatures.

Read through the steps below, then apply your newly found skill to the patterns available here on SHAA.com.

Required Materials: Snapalope skins, recycled paper or newspaper, scissors, clear tape.
STEP 1
Use scissors to cut snapalope skins into rectangular pieces
(4.5 inches high x 2 inches wide for the bill holder, 1.5 inches high x 2.5 inches wide for the mp3 player cover and 6 inches high x 2.5 inches wide for the belt).
To create the desired width, combine two or three skins using clear tape.

STEP 2
Use scissors to cut paper or newspaper, whatever you have available, into rectangular pieces that are the same size as the skins.

STEP 3
Take one piece of the skin and one piece of the paper and assemble one on top of the other as shown below. The red and yellow side of the skin needs to be facing down. Fold the two pieces in half.

STEP 4
Secure fold by placing the skin and paper on the table and going over the folded part one more time.

STEP 5
Fold each of the two halves in half facing inwards.

STEP 6
Fold paper in half through the length of the paper.

STEP 7
Fold paper horizontally in half and then fold each remaining part in half.

STEP 8
Fold paper horizontally in half one more time keeping the two flaps inside the fold creating a “V” shape.

STEP 9
Take two “V” shaped modules and insert one into another as indicated below. Pull on both ends to tighten the fold.

STEP 10
Take another “V” shaped folded skin and insert into the series from the top.

STEP 11
Continue adding pieces to make a bill holder, belt, mp3 player cover, jacket, or any other item you desire.
