Not being seen by the snapalope significantly increases your chances of catching them. No duh, right? But with their sharp vision and
sensitivity to movement, avoiding detection is not as easy as it sounds. S.H.A.A. recommends two useful hiding techniques:
The first hiding technique, known as The Star, is when hunters use the shelving to hover above the snapalope. To do this, stand in
the middle of an aisle and grab onto the fourth shelves up on both sides of you. Then slowly use the shelves below this to bring your
feet up to the shelves where your hands are so that you are now suspended above the aisle in a star shape. Wait in this
position until a snapalope is directly below you, and then let go. First-time snapalope hunters should be aware that this is an advanced
technique and could end a good day’s hunt with your having to go over x-rays with your doctor if this isn´t done correctly.
The second hiding technique, known as Chilling, has the hunter hiding in the cooler. This not only allows you to avoid being seen but
also gives you the ability to utilize the door as a weapon. To do this, simply wait for the herd to pass by, then firmly push open
the door. Should you choose to hide in a cooler, always make sure that you’re wearing warm clothing. Snapalope hunting requires the use
of all appendages, so you don’t want to lose one to frostbite.
